Order matters. Correcting records in the wrong sequence wastes money — we map the right order first, free.
Identity correction & harmonisation

One name. One date of birth. On every record.

When your NIN, BVN, passport, licence, birth certificate and CAC records disagree — even by one middle name — everything downstream starts failing. We map every mismatch, work out which record must be corrected first, and harmonise the rest in the only order that works.

Sequence warning Don’t renew your passport yet — it would be issued against the wrong NIN and need correcting twice.
Part A Why order matters

Your records reference each other. So do their errors.

Nigerian identity records form a chain: banks verify against your BVN, the BVN links to your NIN, and passports, licences and CAC filings all validate against one or both. Correct the wrong link first and you pay to fix the same record twice.

What one mismatch quietly breaks

  • Passport application fails NIN validation — no explanation given
  • Bank account flagged; transfers and BVN-linked services restricted
  • CAC filing queried because a director’s name disagrees with NIN
  • Contactless passport renewal eligibility fails automatically
  • Every fix attempted out of order gets rejected against the still-wrong record
Birth certificate (anchor)
└─ NIN — correct here first
   ├─ BVN (re-match second)
   ├─ International passport
   ├─ Driver’s licence
└─ CAC director / proprietor record

Rule: fix upstream before downstream.
Anything issued against a wrong record
inherits the error — and its cost.
Part B Correction services

Every record in the chain, corrected through official channels.

Buy a single correction or let one caseworker run the whole sequence. Where an authority requires you in person — NIMC does, for some corrections — we prepare everything and tell you exactly when and where.

Part D Most requested

The change-of-name package.

After a marriage or divorce, your new name has to travel through six systems in the right order — and most people discover the order by failing it. This package runs the entire journey with one caseworker and one timeline.

  1. Court affidavit and newspaper publication, correctly worded
  2. NIN updated at NIMC — the anchor everything else validates against
  3. BVN re-matched with your bank
  4. Passport re-issued in your new name
  5. Driver’s licence and vehicle records updated
  6. CAC records corrected where you’re a director or proprietor

Part E Common questions

Before you harmonise.

Can you correct a date of birth, or only names?
Both — but honestly, differently. Name corrections follow a documented path with affidavits and publications. Date-of-birth corrections are far more tightly restricted by NIMC and other authorities, and in some cases are permitted only once, ever. Your free scan and harmonisation plan will tell you the current rule for your specific case before you spend anything — including when the honest answer is that a correction isn’t available.
Will I have to appear anywhere in person?
For some steps, yes — NIMC in particular requires personal appearance for certain corrections, and courts require you for some affidavits. We can’t change that, and anyone who claims otherwise is describing something you don’t want on your identity record. What we do is compress it: everything prepared in advance, the exact office and time confirmed, one visit per step where a visit is required at all.
Why do I need a newspaper publication?
For formal changes of name, Nigerian practice requires a public notice in a national newspaper alongside a sworn affidavit — authorities ask for the publication page as evidence. We arrange the affidavit wording, place the publication, and keep certified copies in your wallet, because you’ll be asked for them again at almost every subsequent step.
What if my documents genuinely disagree — and both are “official”?
That’s the most common situation, not the exception: a birth certificate spelling one way, a NIN capture typed another. The harmonisation plan establishes which record anchors your identity for correction purposes, and coordinates the affidavit that formally reconciles the difference. You don’t have to decide which document “wins” alone — that judgement is exactly what the plan is for.
Can you do this if I live abroad?
Largely, yes. Scans, planning, affidavit drafting, publications and most correspondence work remotely, and we coordinate with our passport concierge for consulate-side steps. Where a step genuinely requires your presence in Nigeria, the plan says so upfront — so if a trip home is needed, you make it once, with every appointment stacked into it.
How long does harmonisation take?
It depends on how many records need correction and which authorities are involved — a single-record fix can move in weeks, while a full post-marriage package spans the timelines of every authority in the chain. Your plan includes a realistic range per step, and because steps run in dependency order, you’ll always know exactly which record the sequence is waiting on.
