Dubai and the wider UAE are home to a fast-growing Nigerian community, and you can open a Nigerian bank account from there without flying home. The major Nigerian banks onboard UAE-resident Nigerians through diaspora desks, and a domiciliary account lets you receive and hold USD, GBP or EUR. The process hinges, as ever, on getting the Nigerian paperwork — NIN and BVN especially — in order first.
What UAE-based applicants should know
For proof of address in the UAE you can typically use a DEWA (or local utility) bill, an Ejari tenancy contract, or a bank statement, alongside your Emirates ID. Domiciliary accounts are offered in major currencies rather than AED, so most people in Dubai open a USD domiciliary account to receive and hold foreign currency cleanly.

Let RenewPapers get your Nigerian account paperwork right
We are not a bank — your account is opened by a licensed Nigerian bank. What we do is handle the Nigerian-side paperwork that trips most diaspora applicants up: NIN, BVN enrolment, address attestation and reference forms, prepared correctly so the bank says yes the first time.
