Nigerians across the United States — in New York, Houston, Atlanta, and everywhere in between — can open a Nigerian bank account without travelling home. The large Nigerian banks have US diaspora desks and remote onboarding, and a domiciliary account lets you receive and hold US dollars directly. As always, the account is the easy part; the Nigerian-side paperwork is what decides how smoothly it goes.
New York, Houston, Atlanta — the same process
Wherever you are in the US, the route is identical: get your NIN and BVN in order, pick a bank with a diaspora desk, and apply online with a US proof of address. Houston and Atlanta have especially large Nigerian communities and active bank representatives, but nothing about the process is city-specific — a US utility bill, lease agreement or bank statement works as proof of address anywhere in the country.

Let RenewPapers get your Nigerian account paperwork right
We are not a bank — your account is opened by a licensed Nigerian bank. What we do is handle the Nigerian-side paperwork that trips most diaspora applicants up: NIN, BVN enrolment, address attestation and reference forms, prepared correctly so the bank says yes the first time.

RenewPapers is an independent document-handling service, not a bank; licensed Nigerian banks open the accounts. We prepare and verify the Nigerian documents a diaspora application needs. General information, not financial advice.
