Struck off by CAC? How to get your company back
If CAC has struck off or delisted your company — usually for years of unfiled annual returns — the company is no longer legally active: it cannot bank, bid or contract in its name. The good news is that a struck-off company can often be restored. This guide explains reactivation and restoration, what it involves, and how to stay on the register afterwards.
Restoration vs reactivation
- Reactivation / relisting — where the strike-off is recent or administrative, bringing the company back by filing the outstanding returns and applying to CAC.
- Court-ordered restoration — for longer or contested cases, a formal application may be needed to have the company restored to the register.
- Either way, the outstanding annual returns and penalties must be cleared as part of getting back to active.
