How to search and verify a company on CAC
Before you pay a supplier, sign with a partner or trust an “RC number” on an invoice, it pays to verify the company on CAC. This guide shows how the CAC public search works, how to confirm a registration number, and how to get a status report that proves a business is real, active and who it claims to be.
What a proper check tells you
- That the company exists and the RC/BN number is real — not an invented one on a letterhead.
- Its status — active, inactive, or at risk of being struck off for unfiled annual returns.
- Who controls it — directors, shareholders and registered address, via the status report.
